Warbler Weekends
Greensboro, Vermont
May 27-29 and
June 3-5, 2011
By late May, with the spring migration over, songbird diversity and abundance has diminished, the leaves have hidden the great display. Most birders have retreated from the woods and wetlands. But the big message from Warbler Weekend is simple: Don't give up!
Now is when we get some of the best possible views of warblers and other striking songbirds. Males, singing on their territories, will sit up and "expose" themselves. And if a songbird "tees-up," Bryan will put a scope on it. Among the many birds we routinely watch in spotting scopes are Winter Wren, Blue-headed Vireo, Blackburnian Warbler (a Warbler Weekend specialty), Canada Warbler, Mourning Warbler, Scarlet Tanager and Lincoln's Sparrow. Everyone gets a look.
You'll see evidence of this in the digi-scoped songbird photos to the right captured by Bryan or his clients during Warbler Weekends. From top to bottom, those are Winter Wren, Scarlet Tanager, Mourning Warbler, Blackburnian Warbler, American Redstart and Lincoln's Sparrow.
You can get photos like these with help from my Photography Workshops.
