Monhegan Island, Maine
Fall 2008

The fall's annual trip to Monhegan Island was among the most memorable. Here's evidence: Dickcissel and Blue Grosbeak in the same scope view. Warblers at our feet (especially that tired Prairie Warbler). Northern Gannetts diving just offshore. Peregrine Falcons and Merlins zooming everywhere around us. We even experienced a bit of Tropical Storm Kyle. (Yep, we bird in the rain.)

Bryan himself spent 15 days on Monhegan, getting a chance to help with the start of lobster fishing season on October 1. He plans to run two Monhegan trips again next year -- September 17-20 and 26-29. (You'll know where to find him in between.)
