Southern Florida in 2010
February 27 - March 7, 2010

Here is your excuse to escape winter for a leisurely birding vacation. We'll visit Florida hotspots for Limpkin (below), Reddish Egret, Roseate Spoonbill (photo above), Wood Stork, Purple Gallinule, Short-tailed Hawk, Snail Kite, Swallow-tailed Kite, thousdands of shorebirds, Red-cockaded Woodpecker, Florida Scrub Jay, Scissor-tailed Flycatcher, Western Kingbird, Painted Bunting and various other Florida specialties.

This trip is timed for a rare visit to the famed Stormwater Treatment Area 5 near Clewiston, Forida. It is arguably the most staggering collection of birds concentrated anywhere in the state. Birders who visit STA-5 emerged changed for life (or, at the very least, quite contented).

For a preview of this trip, check out the 2009 Florida Trip Report

Group Size: This outing is limited to 10 participants. (Vermont Bird tours now limits our group sizes to 10 birders, which provides a great small-group experience for everyone.)

Price:$2,175 for single occupancy, $1,975 for double occupancy. Includes eight nights lodging, breakfasts, park entrance fees, birding in a small group, snacks and other goodies.

Transportation: Transportation is not included in the trip price. Vermont Bird Tours will provide one six-passenger van whose cost will be shared equally by its passengers. We recognize that some of you prefer not to attend birding trips in vans. We've got you covered: Clients who wish to drive can carpool in their own rental vehicles. Bryan will help organize that.

Other Destination Outings:
  - Texas Coast in April 2010
  - Arizona in May 2010
  - Pt. Pelee and Ohio in May 2011
